  The E.A. 2114 conducts research on lifespan development. It studies the cognitive, social and emotional facets of human development and their interactions.

  It essentially takes an ecological and systemic approach, taking into account the different life environments in which the individual develops. Lifelong development is studied by examining individuals’ intrinsic strengths and weaknesses and their interactions with the risks and opportunities that confront them during the course of their life. Developmental factors leading to maladjustment and vulnerability (temporary or more permanent) are also studied, as well as more normal development (typical population). The work focuses largely on applied research, aimed particularly at risk prevention.
